The Purdue University Northwest (PNW) Upward Bound Program is encouraging 9th, 10th, and 11th-grade students and their families to attend a spring 2018 open house on Wednesday, Jan. 17. The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in room 321 of the Student Union Library on the Hammond Campus, 2233 173rd Street.
“The Upward Bound Program has a fantastic track record for preparing students to be college ready. Participants benefit from a variety of services including SAT/ACT test preparation, admission application fee waivers, an introduction to college classes, seminars, workshops and more. They even experience living in campus housing for six-weeks,” said Roy Hamilton, assistant vice chancellor for Educational Opportunity Programs.
Students accompanied by their parent or guardian may be admitted into the program onsite at the event by bringing the completed Upward Bound application, current high school transcript, and proof of household income to the event. The application can be found at www.pnw.edu/upward-bound.
The event is free and open to the public.
